What cars came with 6G Alt?

I am in desperate need of help, I put a 6g alt in my car but I didn't read anywhere that I needed a new connector that goes into the alt because the stock oval one on my car will not fit.

I am going to make a run to the JY to see if they have the alternator, so far all I know is that 00-04 V6 Mustangs came with them...will the GT's or say Expeditions of those years have the plug I am looking for?

The yard near me does not have any 00-04 V6 Stangs...there is no way Ford only put this alternator with this plug on those cars. Who knows the other models it came on?

wtf is a 6G alternator? hahaha they're up to 4G and that's on the 05+'s

Well according to everyone in this thread the 6G alternator is indeed real and not a mythical object!

EDIT:

Oh and this place must not be selling any of these items!

They are up to 6G now.


I beleive it came on the 01-04 V6's and 03/04 Cobra, but not really 100% sure

The 6G alt is like a 3G alt except slightly smaller case, so no grinding. It also has less rotating mass so less power to spin it and the internal fan is better so better cooling.

No idea what happened to the 5G alt, but if my 3G ever dies, i'm going 6G

Thanks for your help. I doubt I will find any of those cars at the JY so it looks like I will be ordering it from that website.

What I did today to get it running atleast was actually grind down the stock connecter so that it fits inside the connector for the 6G alt and it seems to be working good enough to drive. Probably not the smartest idea but I will have a new one in two days so I only have to put up with it tomorrow.
