what color(s) were fox 302 blocks from the factory?

Just curious. Grey? Black? Rust? Did the color change over the model years at all?

Everything built from the 80's on was black if I remember correctly. Some of them in certain models/years weren't painted at all. All Ford built remanufactured engines came in black. Other companies sprayed them in whatever colour they thought would sell best.

Most of the 80's and 90's stuff was grey in the trucks and most of the cars.

My Cobra motor wasn't painted though.

Mine is/was bare...at least thats the way is looked when it was apart last summer. If there ever was painted, it didn't last long!
