Hello, Im back...It took a while but I just picked up a set of used Trickflow twisted wedge 170's. I will have them looked over and install farrea valves and springs and putting on some crane 1.6 roller rockers.

My next hunt will be a cam??? Just to recap, low mileage Stock 302 bottom...I will have the 170cc twisted wedges mentioned, Holley Systemax 2 with 2" spacer, 70mm TB, 75mm Egr Spacer, 80mm mac maf, 30# injectors, fender cold are intake, Mac long tubes 1 3/4 with prochambers-side dumps and a set of 3.55 gears...

Which cam would be best for a street car that this is. I never take it to the track and I will be spraying it (approx 100/120hp wet) to reach my desired goal of approx 450rwhp until I can afford a low psi blower down the road or a turbo. So whats a good cam for my street car with a/c??? Im looking into the Andersons n-41???

Any help will be really appreciated....Thanks!

To each Mustang man his own.
I say build your car how YOU want.
Nobody knows what your goals for your car are.
If you like the 2.73's because of the MPG's keep'em. I did. (for the same reason)
Although I am thinking about 3.55's
You want stock heads and a turbo. Do it.
There is no one set way to build a Mustang.
And IMO if it was, Mustangs wouldnt be as cool as they are.
Good luck with that pony.

Alot of guys dislike the e cam, throw around alot of talk about how dated it is, while it's a custom cam which i prefer, the e is still pretty decent, it's good with superchargers, sounds nice, passes emission and is usually dirt cheap.

I think your 450rwhp goal without an SC is going to be tough though.
Me personally i'd say forgo the nitrous setup since you don't go to the track, spend the money having the heads mildly reworked and get a custom cam.
I had a 100 shot back in the day and for the most part on a car driven on the street it was completely worthless and costly.
With an e cam, unworked heads you should be in the 300-310rwhp range, that would mean you need at least a 200 shot to get your 450rwhp goal.
If i remember correctly my 100 shot only produced about 70rwhp on the dyno.

As for the rockers, if you go with a custom cam, you can use either set.

I personally think you need to stop worrying about making horsepower numbers and concentrate on drivability and a decent over all combination. You aren't going to come anywhere close to 450rwhp with TW 170's...even with a healthy shot of nitrous. As stated above....running nitrous on the streets gets kinda old. Your car is fast on the bottle and mediocre any other time.

I say build up a decent N/A combination now, that nets you the kind of mileage and drivability you're after, add your forced induction later on when you can afford it and let the horsepower chips fall where they may. I've seen 450rwhp cars run 10's...and I've seen them also run 13's. Maximizing your combo is more important at this point than building a dyno queen IMO.

I totally agree. I have left this post alone and started a which cam to use...Im going to use the tfs with the systemax intake but trying to decide on a good street cam with possibilties of a low psi blower down the road. BUT, I will continue to spray until then. But would rather have a good hard running car without the gas...

Some guys still like the old alphabet cams....I'm not really one of them. A good dual pattern grind will outperform an alphabet grind any day of the week. Anderson Ford Motorsports makes some nice off the shelf cams as does CompCams. Personally...unless you've already got a set of 1.7 roller rockers, I'd go with a set of 1.6 rocker arms and let your cam grind determine any additional lift you may need. I'd phone either one of them up....let them know your combination and projected goals and see what they recommend.
