I am trying to work on my car to wire up efi harness, but I am not getting any power to the coil or to the solenoid.(on original 65 harness) I used to have power when the key was on or while truning the key but now nothing. I checked the wiring and it looks good. The battery is charged, I replaced the ignition switch thinking it was bad but after installing the new one it's still the same. I checked the fuses under the dash in the driver side they are all good. Would there happen to be any other fuses or fusible links some where? I don't think there where any fusible links in a 65. Anybody have anything similar or have an idea to what might be the problem. Hopefully I can get it to work soon. Thanks ahead of time. I almost forgot, lights don't work nor the courtesy lights under the dash. I am thinking somewhere along the line from solenoid to the fuse box. If i bypass the solenoid with a screwdriver the starter will turn.:nice:

No Power

Make sure your battery cable connections are clean and tight with a good no-ox grease. Also check that the actual ignition switch is not turning behind the dash panel. I have also had repro battery cables that were bad in their respective crimps. Good luck. Did you remove the "resistor wire" in the original wiring harness and replace it with a regular 14 gauge copper wire preferably soldered on both ends? The pink wire that actually feeds the + side of your coil. This will definitely cause the engine to shut down after only a few minutes of running.
