With the new cartech intake I will be running it looks like I will have issues with the size of the dizzy. I was wondering what options I have to run a smaller dizzy.
I would like to hook into the factory wiring harness so that the ecc controls the timing and so that I can tune the timing table with the Tweecer I have. Maybe this won't be possible, so I am researching my options now. I know UPR sells an adaptor to run a smaller msd cap, but I don't know much about this peice, so any more info than what they put on their website would be great. Thanks guys.

I don't remember on which forum I saw it, but he mounted a true roots type blower on top and relocated the distributor on the passenger side of the car with a pulley where the gear would be and it was run on a belt that kinda looked like a timing belt. The belt ran down to the crank. I guess he used custom length wires. On the DIS, I would guess that you could do it easier if you used the computer out of a Mountaineer and ran the DIS out of it. I've heard that the DIS is much better than our old style distributor system. The guy on that page converted to a 96 computer and spliced in a bunch of the 5.0 pigtails. Since you have a tweecer, I think it would also work on a Mountaineer computer.

Ya'll remember that ... BXR or something like that ... intake
back several years ago

Didn't it require a dizzy relocation of some kind or the other

Maybe ... you could find something from that to help you

How about going to a coil pak thingy like the newer cars

Tom, where's the interference at with your current distributor? Is the cap just too large to fit up against the intake? I might be inclined to give Cartech a shout and see what they have to say/recommend. (210) 333-1642 is the number listed on their site. I would imagine someone has come up against this problem before, so they should know of a solution. Other than that, maybe post over in the Fox section and see if any of those guys have run this intake and what they did about the cap?

Yeah, I figured I would do that, just haven't had a chance because I can't call from work, but I can post from work! lol

I know I have seen people discuss this here as well, and I remember some of the solutions, but I was just looking to cheat and pick some brains on here. lol
