ok, i have a 5 speed 03 gt with under 50,000 mi.. its been bone stock till lately. I put a superchips programmer in it. a k and n filter, putting on underdrive pulleys, and 3;73 gears. i have the gears just have to get them installed. should i spend the money on the k and n cold air intake? and what else should i do? i cant afford a supercharger......yet. and i dont want to dig in to the motor and do cams or anything like that. any suggestions?

suspension work......drop it a bit and get rid of the 4X4 look

i agree the stangs sit up high but i dont want to lower it. it would look better but ride like crap. I lowered a pickup and i hated it.

a lowered stang will not ride like crap unless u give it a crazy slammed drop of 2in or more..... a set of ffrp c springs or eibach prokit will give the car a great feel and a MUCH better stance

If you lower the car .75" to 1.5" you should not have a lot of problems with the steering geometry and the ride quality.

Throw the underdrive pulleys in the trash, get the gears professionally installed, I think you will be very satisfied with the car after that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, I have heard of people having some trouble w/aftermarket pulleys, plus one guy posted that he broke the spokes on his driveshaft pulley, ewww, dosn't it slow your cooling system down, among other problems.

I know you already said you don't want a set of cams, but I have to ask why?

You said you don't want to do too much to your suspension, which I can understand. But with the mods you have already done (especially the gears), the next step as far as power is heads and cams.

For the price, cams will be the best bang for the buck, especially by giving you a ton of pickup after the power peak. It is not a terribly expensive or labor intensive mod and most shops only charge around $450 dollars to do it with a tune. A good set of stage two cams can seriously expand and improve your power curve. It does get more intensive if you install springs, which i would recommend for any cam change, especially beyond stage 1.

The piggyback style are the ones that cause problems. I've had no trouble with my Steeda UDPs, and I haven't ever heard of anyone else that has either.

Yes, they slow the water pump and alternator down a bit, but I've had 0 problems with either temperature or voltage on my car.

And while they are not worth a great deal of horsepower, they are noticeable, although barely. Best thing about them is how quickly the motor revs up.

OP, if you are against heads, cams, suspension, or a supercharger, well....lol. Although if you are up for it, I'd suggest a headunit, sub(s) and amp, and/or door speakers. Something you can always enjoy (along with everyone else you take for a ride), and it doesn't break the bank.

maybe a nice exhaust system? some longtubes and some flowmasters(or whatever brand you prefer) would give your car a nice little hp boost. When I first heard my car, I knew I was buying it just because of the sound haha.
