So I just traded my 95 with a swapped 5.0 for a 2000 gt with 50000 less miles and is a 5 speed vs an auto. After bringing it home I realized the car was previously white (now painted black) its got the dumbest body on it I've ever seen. It's got a 03/04 cobra front bumper (the best part about it) then its got like that spider hood on it or somthin. Then its git these river looking side skirts that r molded to the car along with this "wide" body kit rear bumper thing that really sets the whole car off! Now the car runs great and drives perfect (full tokico suspension all the way around) now Wat would u guys do save the horse and do a completely custom car (looks wise for now as I'm kinda embarrassed to drive the ugly thing lol) or find a cheap v6 and do a complete swap to one that doesn't need any body wrk. (If I got the custom route ill be doing the wrk so money isn't really a problem) or fix a couple of the other issues it has and sell it to make a profit and get a nicer one but send a little outa pocket cash, as ill prob get one over the winter when people r selling cheap cuz they realize the driving a mustang I'm MN winters lol. So just some insight from u guys on here. I really am lost at Wat to do. And for those of u who r thinkin I'm an idiot for trading. My old car wouldve need new paint and a trans and motor rebuild. I think I got the better deal lol as I seen a cleaner one then mine wit same miles but a 5 speed and they were askin 3000 for it so at the most I figured I paid 3500 for the new one. Sorry bout the rant and thanks for all the advise in advance!

Well, you traded a car you enjoyed driving for a car your embarrassed to be seen in. Seems like a no brainer to me. Sell it.

I can't quite understand why you would buy a car that looked so bad that you knew that you'd be embarrassed driving it

Oh man! I would of spent 3500 and purchased a nice clean Notchback foxbody 5.0!!! You said all it has is an ugly hood, side skirts and rear bumper? already has an 03-04 cobra front bumper? Get a stock hood, cobra side skirts and a stock GT rear bumper and call it a day!?!

Show us some pics of this monstrosity, did you trade this without seeing it, cause it sounds like you have more work with this one then your old one. I wouldnt be happy half-a$$ing it, I say sell it and get an older cleaner car, and make sure you see it and drive it first.

See I was all happy wit it till I realized they had painted it from white to black. Really pissed me off. That's when I thought bout doin a custom. When I say custom I'm more less just gonna use all oem parts just custom paint pretty much. And the reason i traded was I knew this one is worth more and would need less work then the old one. And be way easy to resell the one with a swapped motorand if. Someone can tell me how to post pics from my phone id be more then happy to.

Here's the new one the day I brought it home. I got rid of the spoiler and the ugly billet grille cuz I county stand it. I'll snap pics later how it looks now. And I guess I'm not completely embarrassed by it. I shockingly get complements. But I do enjoy driving it. Just not looking at it soo much lol. Well here she is in all her glory. Lol.

And just a little timeline of the past couple years. It started with the red one Wich I got when I was 16. Did a complete conversion to a gt then it had this damn aftermarket sunroof Wich broke and started leaking and the paint was all faded and peeling in some spots (my dad bought this one otherwise I woulda never got it just cause of the stuff but I did like the car) now fast forward to October of 2010 and I got this one
I got a damn good deal on this one and all it needed was a new paint job. So fast forward to April of 2011 the day after I got done painting it and the only pic I have of the car

then on may 26 my worse night mare happened and this is Wat it looks like now
all that and 2 broken femurs and a broken knee cap and a factored ancle and 2 broken ones in the other leg, I'm walking almost normal after 6 months. Now here is were I am. I knew I wanted my old car back and knew **** would be tight money wise to try and replace it how it was. I then decided to trade for the one I have now, ( I found myself manually shifting my red one lol. But it wasn't the same with an auto. So now u all know Wats goin on. So again thanks for all the advise.

i dont think the car looks "to bad" its not my taste at all, but i think its savable with a little ambition and elbow grease. ive seen way worse before, it would be really easy to change but stuff being molded makes it's a little tougher.

on the other hand, what the hell happened when you got into the accident with your old car?!?!?!?

That's exactly Wat I was thinkin till I realized it was painted once before. That's why ive been thinkin of doin a custom paint job being they already painted it once so why not do somthin sweet. Right? Lol.
And I just got off work one day and got in a head on collision that I have no recollection of.

Dude that new car is f**ked. the rear bumper looks as though it was blended into the rear quarter using bondo or something. It's going to take you hundreds of hours to correct the mistakes already made to it. On the other hand you could pay to have the kit removed and returned to stock, but including paint I guarantee you're looking at at least $5K worth of work. You're better off selling that POS and looking for another one.

yea...i'd be embarrassed to drive that too...

It shouldnt be too hard to take the rear bumper off...thats if it's bondo'd.

After seeing the pics...I say keep it.

resurrect that thing.

I've seen worse - but it's pretty rice-y...

Lose the rear bumper, wing, side skirts and hood... Other than that it looks ok...
