What do the quad-shocks do? Can I remove them without problems?

When I was installing my new tires I had to remove the quad-shocks to get them to fit(315/35/17). So far the car is doing ok. It seems to lean a little more the turns, but maybe thats just me . Anyway, I was just wondering what the quad-shock was for and if it would hurt to run without it?

the lower front control arm bushings are oval and distort yunder hard loads pretty bad. If load is not applied evenly on both sides, the axle housing can start moving foreward and rearward at different rates on both sides - very squirrly to control. The quad shocks stop that oscillation.

Like tmoss said, they are there to control wheel hop. If you're not having a problem with it, don't worry about it.

Ok, since I have aftermarket LCA's with polyurethane bushings will I still have that problem? I have a friend who put Southside Machines Lift bars on his car and he took off his quad shocks and he doesn't seem to have any problems with his car.

Sweeet...thats what I needed to know.
Maybe you could help me out with another problem...I get a popping noise whenever I take off, especially if Im going from reverse to first. It stopped for about a week after I changed my clutch so Im thinking it may have something to do with the driveshaft/rear end . A couple guys told me it sounds like the universal joints, but I had just bought a new aluminum driveshaft a couple months before changing my clutch and it came with new uv joints. Any suggestions?

tranny mount i had that same problem i replace the driveshaft UCL LCA and it ended up being my trany mount.....i put a poly one in with stock motor mounts now i need new motor mounts and those are going in tommarow hopefuly that will stop the vibration issue i am having...Already replace harmonic balancer after this it''s a new flywheel

That's new too. Maybe it needs tightened up? I tried once and it was pretty tight but I could try again.

Motor mounts? or start checking very busshing you have

I have new motor mounts..................siting in a box waiting to be installed . Now that I think about it, the exhaust is pretty close to the crossmember. Maybe all that torque is moving the exhaust pipe up into the crossmember? I think that may have been my problem before because I noticed the mufflers were hitting the driveshaft when I went to change the clutch, so I moved them out of the way.
