What do u think? 99 cobra??

I curently own a 97 GT but well its having "dificulties" and i really want to trade it in. my first thought was a newer GT like a 99 Gt and mod it... but a neighbor of mine is selling his 99 cobra for 12500 with 95K miles and im sure hell go down to 12 is this a good deal to u guys? i know he takes good care of the car and its pretty much mint inside and out... the reason im debating about this is because a cobra well its a COBRA for crying out lound, but if i got a gt it could be moded and would have less milage. Yes i know the cobra can also be modded but with a price of 12k it would leave me no money for mods ATM so it would have to wait a year or so
are 99 cobras reliable? and do u guys know what transmision the 99 cobra has, i know the 99 gt still has the t45 but what about hte cobra?

99 cobra had the t-45. 325lb torque rating.

cobra pro's
4v (more hp)
independate rear
better suspention
larger rotors

Cobra con's
independate rear (if you are a strait line guy)

there was a low horsepower issue in 99 look into that

insurance will be more if your driving record is crappy

week tranny IMO. 300lbs + torque with a 325lb rating. The gt has this issue as well if you mod it though.

Well 2001 the gt was half and half. am not sure if the cobra was the same or if all 2001's had the 3650.

either way 2001 would be the first year.

what don't you like about the t-45? I have it in my 01 (did not know to look for the 3650 when I bought) I was pissed at first but I have not had any problems other than the stock shifter sucked complete ass. where I have read tons of 3650 complainers.

96-2001 GTs have the T-45 Transmission.
In LATE 2001, then changed over to the T-3650 transmission. So some 2001 GT and cobras are either or. Depends on when it was made, and you'd have to run the vin to find out I'm sure.

my t45 grinds when shifting (even with a short shifter installed) it might just be because its an old tranny and only happens at 4k RPM or higher and normally its just 3rd or 2nd
