IIRC thats a silencer for the air going to your IAC. No need to clean it or anything

The silencer was added to the IAC system in about '99 to reduce noise

2 girls in my high school actually went into a gas station and asked where the blinker fluid was because they were told that is what was wrong with their turn signals

Dumb blondes =(

I don't suppose you could pick up a couple HP by swapping a straight hose in place of the silencer could you?

I don't think so because the IAC allows air to bypass the TB to control idle speed. So I think removing this silencer would allow slightly more air to enter the IAC valve during idle conditions. This should not affect bhp.

Sorry, I did not know you were being sarcastic. I took the question literally and figured it was worth thinking through. You never know when something has been overlooked.
