What Do You Carry And Why?

I had one of those XDS 9mm's up until recently, although it was the 4.0" model (two-tone, though, just like the above). Trigger? Great. Accuracy? Ehhhh ... not good. Shot WAYYYYY low. Reliability? Nope. Light primer strikes, again and again. Traded that sum'bish back in and got me a Glock 30S. All is well again. As much as I hate Glock as a company and Glock fanboys ... dammit, the friggin' things just WORK, and for whatever stupid reason, I shoot them more accurately than I shoot M&P's and other models.

As often as I change up what I carry, I guess the best way to answer the title, "What Do You Carry, and Why?" is as follows:

"The biggest damned thing that is reliable, concealable, and I can shoot accurately."

For me, as of late, the list is as follows (from big to small):

1. Glock 40 MOS;
2. Smith & Wesson SD9VE (shaddup, it goes bang and shoots straight for me);
3. Glock 19;
4. Glock 30S;
5. Glock 26;
6. Glock 43;
7. Kel-Tec P11 (when I want something G43-sized but holding more rounds);
8. Kel-Tec P32 (carried as a backup piece at all times in the right-rear pocket).

Every once in a blue moon, I'll get a wild hair in my butt and open-carry to and from work my pimped-out Tisas/Regent R200S (1911), my Rock Island 1911A2 (18+1 of .22 TCM!), or Tanfoglio Witness (10+1 of .45 ACP), but mostly just because it's a near-zero-risk thing and I just do it for giggles - co-workers are always going "Now WTF is THAT thing on your hip?" when I hop outta the car. :lol:

Must be nice. The company I currently work for does not allow firearms on the property (including in your own car). As a matter of fact, I am leaving them, but not really for that reason.

Glock 19 or SAI 1911. WY is permitless concealed carry for residents, and lots of people open carry. Just depends where I'm at whether I open carry or not.

I have a decent sized knife between my driver's seat and middle console... just in case I feel like picking someone up and they act crazy. I don't own a gun. I figure if I had one would give others more of a reason to shoot me.

Yes a Very Old Thread, yet somehow suitable for today's events

I also keep a couple of clips close by.

Lets address this here first. While there are some rifles that you can have which will take what is referred to a "clip" that pre-dates the common "Magazine" A .22 does not. I am not getting on you for the wording here. I spent too much time as Infantry to let the term slip by me and yes Ronin38 already mentioned this. I am addressing the masses of people who still use the term. May they begin to use the correct one so my blood pressure will remain steady.

I have thought a lot about posting my daily on here, but then I also returned to my Infantry way of thinking. Having the upper hand (higher ground) in a fight is always the best. In that, I do carry "Items" that I keep concealed. I have an "item" in each vehicle which is a Craftsman Tool that needs to be returned for a warranty replacement but can be used if needed.

Legality of things?
  1. If it is concealed, you only have to worry about legality if you ever have to use it, and personally, I would rather be alive to answer those questions.
  2. My state no longer requires a CCDW
  3. :D:shrug::uzi:

Huh... I'd have thought Lisa might a shovel with D's facial expression on it by now. :shrug:

Good to see you pulled through. I'm sure it was touch and go at times :jester:
