This is the cam i installed in my 347...it was recommended by comp cams cause the motor was built to be used with a little n20 100 or 150 shot....
part# 35-560-8
grind# nx282hr-14
gross valve lift .565 (intake) .580 (exhaust)
[email protected] Tappet lift 282 294

i have done further thinkin and i wont be using the juice as much as i had planned...i want more n/a power now....the motor is 10.5:1 comp. and the mottor only made 331rwhp..and 387rwtq..should i swap the cam out for something more aggressive?

so what cam u think..i know thats a general wide open question but...i would rather have more n/a power and then just go and spray a 75 or 100 shot at the most....i dont wanna split the block i heard that can happen at like 425 + rwhp...so i would like a gain of 20 or more horses from a cam then spray the 75 when i hit the track..most of my mods are in the signature..thanx for all ur help in advance

If you want to keep it with an off the self and comp, probably their XE274HR.

Though I wonder why you couldnt use the 280HR with 1.6/1.7 exh rockers...(say carb only but I think it would work)

Other wise, like so many other times...custom.

Comp 284HR

Check out the comp cams 284HR cam, that is the one that i am running in mine right now. Works great so far, plus its a 114 CL and that is compatible with the ECU. I am putting a blower on the car, but i have been driving NA for a while now, and it has great driveability, great idle too!

I think the part # is 35-306-8 (i think).

I think you could get alot more hp out of you current combo with out changing the cam. you need more intake for one. You need to port match the intake to the heads, and put a large throttle body on the car. 75mm or bigger that is port matched to the upper. Probably should go with a track heat upper or an R intake w/o a plenum spacer if you can make it work. I would also get a AFM power piper and a 90 mm MA. A set of 1 3/4 longtubes would not hurt either if you don't have them already. If you look at your torque vs hp you can see you are lacking in flow. Your hp should match you torque roughly. I think with the above mods you could pick up 30 hp.

yea i hear u red rooster....i want 1 3/4 headers but the 1 5/8 are so tight now i couldnt see the bigger ones working..i mean on the drivers side the headers is literally a hair away from the steering u cant even fit a credit card between them...as far as the intake i am lookin for a track heat upper right now....i have a 75mm tb right now...and i am getting ordered a c&l intake cause it has a spot for the nozzle which i need...but doesnt a 90mm maf seem to big? im running a 76 right now....

Oh problem this morning at the track ..broke somthing in the rear end!!
