What do you guys think? Guides or rings?

Ahhh sorry I neglected that piece of information.

I have never done it but isn't there a test when checking compression where you get your base psi and then squirt oil into the cylinder to see if the psi increases to determine if the rings are bad?

I think you are supposed to do that when you get one or two cylinders that are down to check for stuck rings. I finished out checking all 8, the worst reading was 80 psi and the best was 95 psi. The short block is just worn out, upon reflection this doesn't surprise me a whole lot because I rotated the engine with a breaker bar a few months ago when I was checking something else, and it was pretty easy to turn with all the plugs still installed.
