I was on the Speedhut website screwing around with some customization options. One thing I always thought would look unique is some red faced gauges to overlay the stockers. Being that I have a red car, what do you all think?

i was going to attempt to take apart the gauge cluster and wet-sand the green tint and just get red bulbs. if that fails, overlays would be the second and more costly option.

Speedhut makes good stuff. Nice thing is their overlays don't depend on the stock lights, they have their own EL-GLO lighting element, so you get even lighting all the time.

Not at all. In fact, get the red AC panel while you're at it to match it up. You can get it in black with red letters. Would look nice.

I got speedhut overlays...they put the text i wanted and logos on the exact opposite sides of what I ordered, then wouldn't accept a return because I had opened the box they came in WTF! Oh yeah, also the redline was at like 7,500RPM

IMO Just save up some more cash and get a full gauge cluster (MRT, autometer, etc)...

Are the overlays difficult to install? I'm a little mechanically retarded when it comes to a lotta things. Best to leave it to a pro?

They aren't to hard install at all. Just be careful and make sure you have everything lined up before you put everything back together. The hardest part I had was figuring out how to wire it. Mine look great, I get compliments all the time.

Do their gauges fit over the gauge needles or do you have to remove the needles to put them on? I am intrigued with a white face gauge and red lettering since my car is red. Up to this point I was going to go with either an EZ-glo blue/green or the reverse glo silver.

Oh, and what does the "upgrade invertor" consist of?

I'm seriously thinking of getting the reds myself. The red one's in their gallery look awesome. I say go for it.
