did you put a clear coat over the paint?

I sure did! Two layers, in fact. It's only chipping over the chrome trim ring real bad, so I think it's just because I didn't sand it down good enough to get a good paint adhesion. I say screw it now, because I WILL get a grille delete someday.

Ok im sorry but do i really need to buy this product for 100 dollars from this website???

Can't i just buy some cross-hatched aluminum for about 8 dollars???

What does this grill kit come with exactly...

I have a tribar pony grill from a ... '70 i believe... that i wanted to stick in.

I agree with most of those who say:

1. It looks good, well done, and

2. The emblem would look better in the middle.

It's not a kit. The site just sells sheets of material and some accessories to help mount. The creation, design, color and what you put on it are up to you. They sell a sheet for about $40 but have a lot of choices of sizes and shapes.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. If anyone gives this a try, please post or send me some pics. I'd love to see how yours came out. Always looking for new ideas and this one was pretty easy.

I've seen this thread before

Personally our grilles aren't as large as the GT500s are, and therefore i don't think it looks good set off to the side like that, looks to out of place. As for the wire mesh, i like that a lot

Center the emblem man. Off center emblems look half-assed IMO. Centered looks nice and clean and organized.
