What Do You think of My DIY Stripe Project?

Wanted to try something different so I purchased the Foose Strip Kit.

Had my wife help to hold the large hood stripes in place while I squeeged them smooth.

Then I pinstriped around the whole thing.

Super easy to do - if you follow the instructions.

Great Results too. If I really like them, I'll have them painted on next year.

I think I have found a "side gig" which could pay for more mods.

What size rims are those? Seem a bit on the small side to me.

Nice stripes though...is the pinstriping done by hand with paint or is it part of the kit? Also do they have a flat black application and how easily does it come off if you decide to get rid of it?

Dear Mike,

1. Wheels are 18"... 20's are too "Show Boat" for me...

2. Pinstriping is tape.. If I really like the way it looks, I'll have it all painted on next year...

3. The company that I bought these stripes from on ebay also has other colors...

I'm sure flat black is one of them...

looks really good, but then again, i'm partial to these type stripes...while ours isn't the exact same thing, the "Foose" stripes were the inspiration for ours too...

All emblems were taken off to do an expert done...

Hair dryer and an extra plastic squeegee....

Then reglued the emblem back on after the job was done...

I'm good, but not that good!!! (Ha-Ha)

Brilliant, well done. Wifey too. The red pinstriping really sets off your red seat inserts!

IMO the stripes are fine, no need to yank them off and paint new ones on, especially after all that work. Just use Turtle Wax F-21 Super Protectant (green spritz on bottle). Also recommended for all the black mouldings around the car to prevent them from oxidizing in the future. (dont use Armour All because it actually hastens cracking). Your stripes will look very well dressed after its applied and will last a long time.

Slightly off topic but what and where do you spin? If nearby, I'll wear my Speednation.com Mustang t-shirt.

Nice job Disco! Where in the Chicago area are you located? Hopefully I will see and your ride at one of the many car shows around town next year. One thing you shouldn't miss is the Speed, Inc. open house every spring in Schaumburg right off the Elgin O'Hare expressway. Its a burnout fest all day long!

I've seen you and your car at many shows and meets in Schaumburg and at the Packey Webb meet and greet... (I even won a trophy at the PW show)...

You have an amazing car and have put so many hours of hard labor into it -- and it shows...

I love your color combo but I have owned two red cars before the Silver Stang so I wanted to try another color for mine...

I'll see you this spring and make a point to shake your hand...

My baby is away for the winter and I probably will not drive it until mid to late March or until this crazy winter ends...
