I am considering buying a 99 GT engine with 80k miles on it. The asking price is $900. I would have to drive probably five hours to get it, so probably another $200 in gas. If I dont do this then I would probably get a PI kit for $400 used with 40k miles on it and a much closer drive, about an hour. I feel the engine may be easier to instal instead of the heads cams and intake. Also how much do you think my engine I have now is worth 96 GT 4.6 non PI with 118,000 miles on it?

If you are going to do an engine swap throw something real in there. Not something with powdered metal connecting rods...

DONT but the 99 GT motor. they are weaker than the 01' and up motors, and spin bearings for some reason much easier. and thats alot of miles for $900. a buddy of mine bought an 18k mile 04gt motor for $800. dont settle for that motor.. keep looking and get something half decent.
