I'm building a 1984 LTD 5.0 engine to install in a 1978 Mustang II chassis. The 1978 chassis didn't come with an engine or transmission. So I've been buying parts off Ebay. I purchased a billet aluminum power steering bracket and power steering pulley from CVF Racing on Ebay. The pulley is 20% smaller in diameter than the original pulley. Will this smaller pulley present problems with the 1978 Mustang II power steering? Will the smaller pulley increase pressure/flow or decrease? The engine is now 4 bbl, original crank pulley, with vee belts. No serpentine belts.

It will spin the pump faster if that's what you are asking.

If the smaller power steering pulley causes the pump to spin faster will the smaller pulley increase pump pressure/flow? Will the pump leak under higher pressure? Will steering be easier when ps pump is speeded up? Know of any advantages/disadvantages? Does the 1978 ps pump have a pressure relief valve to release excessive pressure? I need to know before I install or the vendor may not take it back if it has any scratches or marks. Thank you
