As long as it is V8 I am not too particular. I can build most anything I would want to put on the car. So GT is what I likely will buy. Unless some kind of special edition is announced soon.

well I would love to have a GT, the thing is I am 16 and the insurace will kill me. For a 04 GT insurace for me is going to be around 270 a month plus the car payment, but I will be putting like 14g's down. If I can't get the GT I will be getting the new f150. But we will just see how my job goes to see if I can handle the insurance.

As for the pricing goes they only have the v6 and GT priced so far and no one knows for sure what other models will be out in 05. And I think for the v6 it was somewhere around 17k and 24k for the GT, but I forget exacly what was said before. That is just around how I remeber it was.

I'll be getting a used 5speed V8 vert as soon as they dip into the $10-15k range.

Sounds like someone would do well with a V6, then a engine swap when the Cobra engine comes out. Insurance would never have to know.

I am still trying to find a way to afford a nice used Bullitt. I LOVE those things. College has me strapped for cash, so I don't plan on picking up a new stang for several years, but when I do, hopefully it will be another special model, naturally aspirated V8. Better start saving now.

Here's how it'll break down for a lot of people.

I WANT an 06 Cobra but insurance or sheer cost of the car will prevent that from happening.

I'd settle for a mid level special edition(prefer it to be a Boss) but again sheer cost probably means I won't be getting one new if at all.

Thusly...GT here I come.
And I'll take one in black or Dark Steel Gray. No stipes and spoiler delete if possible. 17" wheels, leather interior black, basic radio unless they offer XM or something like that from the factory, 5 speed.

I would loooooove a 05 GT probably deep red (burgandy) with black interior, or the bright red w/the red/black interior as a second choice. 5 speed all the way, other than that....all stock is just dandy with me.

However, in reality, I may have to get the V6 due to 'budget'.

I can live with the smaller engine, if I must...but the body of the 6 bugs me a bit. It really needs the lower rocker moldings like the GT, and the rear spoiler. Without that it looks pretty plain. <sigh> I guess that's what makes it the 6 otherwise it would be a poor mans GT.

Oh and lets not forget the fog lights look real cool too. <sigh> Decisions, decisions.

I'm with you on the vett, What I am thinking about doing is just getting a truck since ohio weather sucks. And me and my dad just got a 01 Vert Corvette and we are looking for some more classics like a 69 stang. In that case I am content with the cars that I will be able to drive. But of course the vett isn't a manual just a crappy 4 auto which makes no sense, oh wait it is a chevy now I get it. But if we get a 4 speed manual 69 boss that would be sweet. And then I wouldn't have to worry about getting a new 05 stang all dirty in the winter and I would just wait to get maybe a special edition one when they come.

As for other cars that I like, I used to like the honda prelude untill I drove one. Just something about the car being pulled that doesn't feel right with me, And there really aren't to many rear wheel drive cars and I'm not going to chevy.

For those who don't like reading:
* '06 Speciality Model such as a BOSS or GT350 (or GT if one's not offered)
* Color scheme still hard to call (Dark Gray, Silver, Deep Blue, or Bright Red)
- Hoping a Stripes will be offered as factory option in '06. Otherwise, a
great paintshop will have to add for me.
* Spoiler Delete (will have to see in person first to decide)
* Shaker Audiophile 1000 Stereo System Option
* Red Leather Interior Option will Aluminum Trim
* Still undecided on wheels. (leaning towards 18')
* Extended Warrenty

For those who don't mind some light reading:
For me.. there will be no V6.. V8 or bust!!!! LOL I love the body, interior, technology, and heritage of the GT. IMO, Ford has a definate winner with this car. Like someone said before, Even people who know nothing about cars and could otherwise care less about them have been searching the net trying to find out EVERYTHING about the '05. That says alot!!! I have personally not been a fan of the SN95 over the past years. My intrest and spirit have since been re-kindled. This will be the first brand new car I have owned. Something I'm extremely excited about. To add to that excitement, I will be paying in FULL when I pick the car up. Actually my bank is going to count is as an intrest-free loan against my savings account. I'll just never have to worry about making a payment. Sweet huh?

Thats my car in a nut-shell. Actually S197!!! LOL

If I don't end up getting a 04 navigator (on impulse for the summer) I'll get either the 05 GT redfire or torch red with red lether int fully loaded. I will be trading my 05 stang in for that first (of many) special editions that comes out that makes me say WOW!! all over again.

I'm 20 years old and my first and only car was (and still is) an 89 Lx (yup, still has the 2.3L kickin under the hood) and I love it despite its lack of power, it just fits me like a glove and handles exactly how i want a car to handle.
so with that said, I don't know what I'm going to do when it kicks the bucket, I don't much care for the look of the 04's but I looove the 05's So an upgrade of that magnitude would be awesome! a V6 would be JUST FINE! Problem is I live in Canada and have NO idea if/when I will be able to get my hands on one
