i dont have a pic right now but it's that tube that goes from the drivers side valve cover to the inlet tube. what is the purpose of that? i have a clear piece of tubing on there (because of the connections for my intake tube) and it is literally caked with oil. must be sucking oil up into it. my oil has seemed to go down as well, this is my first time noticing this.

can i get rid of this tube, put a breather cap on and cap the end off on the intake? would it be alright if i keep the pcv valve ont he other side though? would this cause a pressure problem? thanks.

I have done this on my car. What the tube does is send oil mist/ engine crank case gasses back into the intake to be burned in the cylinders. You can vent it to the atmosphere if you so choose. I can't remember the part number but the small K&N breathers work on the drivers side. I took the 710 cap off and fitted another Larger K&N to it to. I then blocked off the PVC and Intake so the Mass Air wouldn't go nuts and shut the car off, and My car still passes all emmissions. Although I must say for all the work and $ it took to make this work, I'd leave it stock :nice:

i still think i'll do it. but would it be alright to leave the pcv valve in place, but just put a breather cap on the one side (and cap off the other opening)? would that be bad for the engine?

YES, Leave the PCV,as long as you plug any holes on the intake tube down stream from the MAF. Put a filter on the drivers side cam cover so crank case pressure dosen't build up and blow a gasket. It won't be bad for the engine. I have run this way for over a year and no problems. When I get my computer system set up at my new home I'll post a pic of my setup. :nice:
