What driveshaft to get for T5/7.5"?

I just swapped a carbed 5.0 and T5 into my 1986 former 3.8L/C5 convertible, and it seems that the driveshaft is too long. My junkyard has a bunch of 2.3L/auto cars but no 2.3 5-speeds -- can I use either driveshaft or only the T5 model?

Help quick! I gotta get this thing on the road!

I am pretty sure the T5 version is shorter. Have you looked into the Ford Racing aluminum?

Yeah, but I'm going for a record here... I've got about $1200 into the whole car and it's actually a decent looker.

To help you out if you are in a junkyard, the Ford Racing driveshaft for the V8 T5 cars is 45-1/2" long from center of u joint to center of u joint.
