Ive been reading some threads and really didnt find an answer. Im just wondering if I get some gears what other stuff do I need to go with the install? My car has 7k mis so I doubt anything is really that worn out. Any idea guys? Would I be able to get away re-using the same stuff or do I need to order some extra crap?

Thanks... :nice:

yea i think there is 1 more thing you need cause a lot of stuff is re-useable considering you have a low mileage car...but for the life of me i can remember what it is :(

Most likely you'll need a master install kit. It includes bearings, seals, marking compound, etc. You might can reuse your bearings and seals since your car only has 7k mi. If so, you'll only need a minor install kit.

no, you don't need the aluminum driveshaft with your 4.30's. Most people don't even gain anything from the aluminum DS. Just get your gears and speedcal (if you have 5spd), chip (if you have an auto). If it's done right you won't need anything else but your gears. The installer should have everything else needed to make the install. BTW, if you get 4.30's you'll lose most of your top end. Basically all 1/4 mile car. I have 4.30's

I can't answer your questions about the 4.30s. But who is doing the install?? Is it a shop that does a lot of rear end/gear work? Or are you going to do it? If you are taking it to a shop then the only other thing you might want to take is a bottle of friction modifier(althought the shop might have this in stock.) With only 7k on your car I doupt you need any new bearings or seals. I just put gears in my car at 24k and everything looked great. Now, if you are installing the gears then you will need some other stuff as well. RTV to seal the diff, marking compound, and carrier shims. But once again any gear shop worth it's weight should have all of this.
