I installed my Novi 2000 over the last couple months and finally had some decent weather to drive the vehicle. For the last couple days I have been have cooling problems when I would get on it a little. Fans turned on and even replaced the ECT. After spending more time on it today I thought I had it all fixed until I went for a drive and once again it got hot, I let it cool down a bit and nailed it onto the highway, little bit later I had pretty white smoke coming from my tailpipes. Went out a little bit ago and started pulling plugs and #5 was still smoking when I took it out. This could of been my problem all along. Anyways now that I am doing headgaskets what else should I be doing??? I want to change the b-cam out for something that idles decent. ANy ideas??? I am going to change water pump also. Should I use studs on the heads or just replace the head bolts??

I called a local Napa and they told me like $89 for a head gasket set for a 5.0. I asked them if they had a listing for a cobra and for that kit they want $189 and he stated that it was cobra only?? Is there a difference. I was planning on running the 9333pt1 head gaskets..

Do you still have the stock radiator?
With a blower, you gotta ditch the stocker.

ALso with AL heads and blower, you should be running Autolite 23's.

do you have a manual fan switch? if not they help alot, and like RC said, an alum. radiator really helps. the b-cam is more for a NA engine. i know alot guys like the AFM cams, but i don't know much about them. as for the ford cams, the e and f-cam are more for supercharged applications. i would look into some fel-pro gaskets instead of factory ford parts. better quality products.
