What engine and trans should I go with??

alright guys believe it or not I've got about 10k to dump on a new engine and trans. What do you guys think I should go with. My 67 fastback has a 302 and C4 right now. i was think of some sort of stroker motor with some sort of 5 speed. Maybe a TKO. Any suggestions???

i plan on building a 351w based engine, and using a top loader 4 spd for my 66 coupe. i also plan to run 3.00 rear gears.

Are you building a motor our buying a motor?
Street cruiser or scare the heII out you?
If you go with a 5 speed you may also want to consider gears.

Hard to go wrong with a stroked 351 and a 5 speed!!
Maybe a 5.0 HO and AOD if someone else needs to drive it, too?

nope I'm in college and its just me driven it. I lookin for somethin not to radical but not a little baby cruiser. I def want a pretty rough cam to make it sound really mean, how much am I lookin at for the total swap. Just a ballpark. Coast High looks pretty cheap

I'm looking at the same budget for a 68 coupe. I've pretty much decided on a 347 stroker from Keith Craft Racing and a G-force T5.
That's in the future, though. Right now, I'm waiting for the wife to OK my purchase of a new Currie 9" rear end. Either 3.89 or 4.11 gears. I haven't decided.

Just curious but how much is that gonna run you?? the 347 and T5

Well, the 347 from Keith Craft is going to run about 5200 economy or 6200 standard. Both make plenty of power. I live in Arkansas, so I can pick up the engine. I think the G force T5 runs about 2k new. It's so far in the future, though. I haven't really tallied all the costs yet.
