I actually saw this on a Diesel site the other day although they added " change fuel filters often" onto the clean oil and filter change........This is an age old debate, but an oil change is still the cheapest thing we do for our hot rods so do it early and often.
And I don't sell oil or anything else...
You use STP goo for what?I use the STP goo..I think the 302 likes it.
STP has not changed, oil has.Oil addative. Surely you know STP. Remember the stickers back in the day. What ever happened to stickers in advertising automotive products. Money. The best were the Budman stickers
I chucked some Lucas in my car a couple of weeks ago and it did wonders. Prob gonna keep doing that in the future.I use the STP goo..I think the 302 likes it.
I have used Lucas, Slick50, Duralube, and sea foam. Sea foam I added a whole can in the gas tank and to the crankcase, drove my last 1000km before the 5000km mark and changed the oil and it is awesome stuff, I had a sticky lifter and it fixed it .I chucked some Lucas in my car a couple of weeks ago and it did wonders. Prob gonna keep doing that in the future.

Pretty much all the major brands say the same or similar things.Just changed my oil from 10W30 to 5W30 Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil comes in a 5 quart bottle with the ford FL1 oil filter and she runs smooth like butter and purrs like a kitten

I always use Motorcraft synthetic blend but for no real reason decided to try full synthetic for my last oil change in April. It leaked. Not bad, just a few drops every few days compared to zero drops prior.How many miles on it?? First time with synthetic?? I wonder if it will leak.

I switched back to the synthetic blend and all is fine again.
That was my experience with full synthetic oil.
I watched a guy add 10-40 to his vehicle in Alaska when it was below 0 farenheit.... I was surprised at how thick it was... Way thicker than I would want in my cold engine...... Most multi weight oils all seem to flow well when its warm, except for 20-50 it always seems a bit thick, but again I was surprised at the 10-40 at very cold temps....They said 20-50w semi synthetic.
I was surprised. I said "isn't that kind of thick?"
The Machinist said "how thick do you think that oil is at 200+ degrees F?"
Valid point. I have been using it ever since with zero complaints.
