What exhaust sounds like toasters in a dryer?

I saw a black 2003 or so SVT and ironically later in the day a black 2005 or so Mustang GT both with very similar sounding exhausts.

They sounded terrifying. Nothing I'd want in a daily driver but maybe for the fun-mobile.

Best description I can give is large chunky banging metal sound with fast repetition as they pulled away.
