What fan besides electric/stock

will work better than stock? What fan with a heavy duty clutch would you recomend?

Umm, not sure. Question: Why would you want to go back w/ a fan clutch when going electric is easy and helps reduce a lil drag on your engine?

If you are looking for a different blade, I've had good luck with a HD clutch and a FAL metal replacement blade. I live in So AZ, which might be comparable to your hot So-Tex climate.

That said, I would agree with going electric if you dont already have a new fan clutch (they're pricey, and that money could go a long ways towards covering a junkyard Mark VIII and quaity fan controller).

Thanks guys I do have a Mark VIII fan and a DCC unit, but lately I've been having trouble. Power to the fan shuts off and car starts to over heat. I just want to drive w/out having to constantly be looking at the LED power indicator for the fan. Need to go over the wiring and make sure there is nothing loose.

i dinked around with mech anc clutch fans and etc. i ended up doing the 3g alt swap/efan conversion and couldnt be happier.

i also use a DCC controller and it works great

I'd do the same and check the wiring. If no luck, I'd then contact Baskin.
