I use mobil 1 ATF. You just have to make sure it is Mercon oil. Definately don't use gear oil and you don't need GM synchromech. Our trannys are designed for regular ATF

Dexron/Mercron III ATF fluid is what you need...I just put the Castrol brand in and don't have a second gear grind when the tranny is "cold". That could have something to do with the warmer weather though. My tranny isn't quite as noisy as before but not much of a difference.

I now use Redline synthetic D4. It's an ATF that is specifically designed to be used in manual transmissions that need ATF.

How many liters of fluid do our T-5's hold? Going to switch to Mobil 1 ATF.

Are you 100% sure? I don't want to buy three quarts and have to go back and get another to fill it to the top.

It's like 2 3/4 quarts. You'll never beable to put an exact amount into the trans unless it's completely DRY. 3 quarts will def. cover it though.

AMSOIL DUDE... AMSOIL 100% SYNTHETIC ATF. Best stuff for a T5. Try it and see. I think its better than mobil 1 also. Not by much, but Mobil 1 makes best oil in world, not the best ATF.

Ehh... ATF is ATF is ATF is a T-5. I've never noticed a difference at all. It's not like the fluid is pressurized, applied to clutches and heated like in an auto where a synthetic would do better.
