MAybe I have not been around lately to hear what happened, all his posts have n/a under his name and he appears to not be a registered member any more, i was just curious...

I don't mean to start anything, but from what I recall MSP was banned from Stangnet after an incident that included Blackstang (I think that was the name) and shortly thereafter he was not heard from again. You might want to ask Jenn as I believe she would have the answer to that. Again, I am just speculating. I did appreciate his input and outlook on the 2005 V6 Mustang even if he is spirited (as I am, and a lot of us are) and we as men can be strongly opinionated (women too!). I don't know the details of exactly what happened or to what extent, but I believe he was banned from using this site. Sometimes with some of the looser cannons on some of the threads it sometimes pays for me to just :Zip2:

Yeah he got banhammered. I don't agree with it because he got trolled by a mod here(blackstang). He could have handled it better but that mod had no business starting crap over here. MSP posts over at themustangsource.com now, as do a lot of the regulars from here.

Okay. I am going to lay this out as generic and as simple as possible.

ALL parties involved in the threads and posts that occurred during that time period were give the same respectful requests. ALL of the members were provided with that same warnings and expectations.

Let me make this clear - ALL MEMBERS THAT ACTED AS REQUESTED ARE STILL HERE. Those who did not are gone.

Any members that pull any of the same stunts will be likewise pointed to the banhammer!!!

It is what it is; which afterall is a car forum.

Oh and Moving to Talk.

I love open forums on these boards that are suposed to be "off topic" then wen a topic gets started that members get into a debate over and words are exchanged, the moderators have to step in. Whic usually it is entertainment for some, an addiction to the participants, but the majhority of the board members never see it.

Then a Moderator has to come in and say.. Oh be nice or I will BAN you. Like that is somce sort of major punishment. There are so many board for the smae stuff now its sickening.

Ofcourse then again, if you have access to more than one computer and oin email address.. you just register a new nick and lay low for a while, play nice and by the time they figure out that your back, you are a Mr. Nice guy again.

Most Moderators I ran accross on other borad we picked on in High School and had powerless jobs. :rlaugh:

Though, I haven't been here long enough to speak of anyone on this board, but I am sure 1 or two of them think they are some kind of internet police or something.

Whatever happen to free speech... oh yea you gave it up when you agreed to the "terms":flag: :bs: :flag: :bs: :flag:

I will probably get banned soon now, but just my $.02

One of the challenges with public forums such as this is that most people don't remember that they're truly NOT public. This forum is owned by someone who foots the bills, provides the resources to make the forum available and user friendly, and makes up the rules.

Bottom line is that its their forum and we are just guests of theirs. And as we all know about guests... when they cross that line, more often than not, they get asked to leave.

Kyle,

I have no problem with you speaking your mind like this. What you say for the most part is true. I came on here as a member just like you have. At some point I was asked to moderate. In that role I am requested to enforce the "terms". I apply that enforcement without prejudice. Pope or the President, if you are wrong, you are wrong. There are graduated warning steps to most bans.

My time here would be better if I did not have to enforce the rules. I had more tech talk and fun when I was not a moderator. But, it was asked of me, I accepted and I do what I do. I get no enjoyment or cheap sick thrill from enforcing the terms. I have a 7 year old that can follow rules and terms as simple as the ones we have outlined. The largest rule is to be respectful to each other. We all have the right to our opinion, as we live in America. But as Marti pointed out, this is not a "Public" forum.

All I ask from members is to be respectful to each other. Even when you are exchanging different opinions there are ways to retain respect and dignity. We are talking about cars, afterall. I found that after having to watched my dad die a terrible and painful death to Kidney Cancer, not much ripples my skin. That event set a new precedence for applying anger, frustration, resentments, etc. In other words, there isn't much that can be handed to me that I choose to assume a battle and differences in opinions on what I drive, surely is not one battle I will take on.

Enjoy your cars fellas (and ladies) and in case you haven't noticed, they are better to drive than talk about. :nice:
