what heads?

How can I tell what heads are on my motor?
Do I need to pull the heads off to tell?
Only marks on the heads I could see after pulling valve covers is
a little circle with a line through it, then 9 K 1 2, then another little circle/line deal.
Any ideas anyone?

If they are factory heads there should be a E7 mark in them. Maybe under a rocker on the head themselves.

The casting # can be found under the intake port on the head.....you'd have to pull the intake manifold and use a small mirror to see the #.

The 9K12 is the date code of the head.

9 = year ('69, '79, '89)
K = month (in your case it's October. The letter I isn't used)
12 = day of the month
