I run 8.4's at 82mph now all N/A with my current combo. I am sure I could cut better if I had slicks but anyways I am looking at the Edelbrock Plate kit because I have heard good things and I am running the Performer EFI intake and it would double as a spacer to keep some heat off the upper. The kit is adjustable from 150-300 shot, I would probally run between 150-200max. What kind of difference would this system make???

gotcha. i dont know, but it sounds good to me. i would run the shot on EFI and if something fraggs, maybe go to a carb at that point.

im not a nitrous guy, so i am of less help than normal. :)
good luck.

well Donkey pretty much hit it right on the head. Jason, i know you have done a ton of mods and as i recall, this is not your D.D. - is the motor up to a 150 shot? that is a pretty good wallup to stick into it. (i dont recall anyone running any more than that on a used [not a new shortblock] stock block).

like i said, i dont know, but will bump ya to find out.

I have a friend who runs a 150 shot on his 155K+ stock block. He has tried to blow it up sevral times, but all he has really done is screw up his toque boxes and controll arms. He has had the heads off and worked, but never touched the bottom end. I myself wouldn't put more than a 100-125 shot on my car unless it was built for the bottle. But my car is also my only transportation, so it would be different if I had another daily driver.

I would say go for it.:nice: Thats my favorite of setups, H/C/I with nitrous. The best type of setup for a street car IMHO. I have a friend who post on here a lot, has Holley heads, Lunati cam, and Peformer intake and runs a 200-250 shot(cant remember exactly) on the stock 302 bottom. Im not sure how long they have run it like that, but its been through some good runs. Stump1000 is his name, if you want to PM him or something. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

The thing with Mustangs is there are so many ways to make power out there. I get to thinking what way to take, do it through cubes, through nitrous, through a blower, maby a combo? Then with the blower what do you want, roots, screw, centrifugal, or turbo, then what, twin, or single? Of all the different roads to take there are different price tags and the hassel of which to get there.

I like cheap easy consistant power. That is why I want to go carbed. I am getting to the place where tuning will come into play. I don't want to get a Tweecer or anything and if something acts up I don't want a headache over it. When computer controlled cars get bugs in them, it can be a PITA. Carbed cars are much more simple, less parts, less to go wrong, less to eleminate when something does go wrong.

The reason I went with the EFI buildup I guess because I was into this whole "streetable, emmisions freindly, good gas milege, daily driver" thing. That was fun but got old and that all went out the door with the B cam and longtubes, and I miss the drivability but would never go back. I used to like all this electronic stuff but not so much anymore. Nitrous is cheaper with a carbed setup.
