would anyone be able to tell me what this hole is for on my GT-40 intake. My original 5.0 intake as u all know didnt have this and of course Ford doesn't give any information on it. :bang: And also theres nothing for the hoses that originally ran to my MAP sensor to connect to. I did convert to mass air so the line coming from the intake to the MAP I have plugged, but did all mass air mustangs not come with a connection for the hoses. Im sure that may not make any sense but i'm at a loss.

Isn't that where the oil filler vent line goes? I don't have the GT-40 but seems to be in the correct position for it.

Also:
Your MAP sensor should not be plugged. It should be open to ambient air.

Hmm..

Dude, I'm not expert, but that looks like an IAT mounting port. You know, for the air temp sensor. On a stock 5.0, the IAT is mounted in the driver's side front of the lower, at a 45 degree angle. I looked on ebay for a picture of the gt40 lower, and it had the boss but no hole. How big is the hole? Does it connect to the throttle body bore. It could also be a vacuum port, too. I've never see that hole on people's cars with a GT40 though. It looks like you have the tubular upper. On the solid (93 Cobra) upper, there is a vacuum nipple where your hole is. Hmm..

yehi was thinking it was for a sensor, but i pulled all my sensors off the old n put them where they would go in the new...i know which hole your talking about for the lower and on mine theres a hole for it...ill post a pic of the lower for you to see...as for my MAP sensor, its not plugged but the line that originally connected to it was plugged so not to have a vaccum leak.

well i went ahead and capped mine for the time being...guy @ springfield motorsports told me to use the plug under the upper plenum that is opposite the vaccum tree and run it to the purge canister, but i needed ot for the pcv, so that was a no go
