What is a good traction aid compound?

I am looking for a good traction aid compound similar to VHT, but without the $29.99 price tag. Is there anything similar that produces like results for less cost?

Thats where I got mine last time, cant beat 2 gallons for $40 thats for sure. PLus Jegs will match it, summit doesnt sell it to the public (its pretty clear what its used for).

i've seen people squeeze out a puddle of liquid dish soap in front of the tires before a burnout, then spin the tires into and out of the puddle..can anybody explain this?
