What is everything I need to install and replace while installing bigger fuel pump?

Is their any kind of gaskets or old rusty things that might need to be replaced...I'm in need of a bigger fuel pump and I hope I can install it myself to save me some money...but anyways...what needs to be taken care of when replacing a fuel pump...here is a pic of the one I am getting...

It will most likely be the 190lph pump...

Do I need this gasket (grommet)?

well i didn't look at all your links, but when i did a 190 i had to bend the holder a bit to fit it in. also had to splice the wires and use the shrink tubes. IMO the hardest part is getting the tank down...heavy w/ 1 person...run it really empty to help out. i put a 2 x 4 under the tank (long ways..width wise..to disperse the weight) and lower it w/ the jack. you should have a brass punch also so when you hit the slip ring that holds the assy. in place it doesn't spark

I did a 155lph, it was just a basic swap w/ no wiring changes. Alot easier than I thought it was going to be. Follow notchback's advice. You might want to use compressed air to clean around the lock ring before removing as well, to keep dirt from falling into tank. It's pretty easy with the tank very low on fuel, but remember that will mean more vapor, which is more dangerous. Make sure you replace the screen/sock on the pump, the new pump should come with one.

Your links are messed up. I's go ahead and replace the filler neck grommet, yours will probably be cracked and such.

I'd replace the fuel filter at the same time as well after you reinstall and run it a bit. Might stir up some stuff.

also since you are there i would re-place the FL sender...........since they are neturious for going out.....if you alread havent changed it...............my filler neck O-ring gasket wasnt that bad off so i re-used it.........all up to your car though....

Looks like that fuel sender lock ring/gasket at 50resto also fits the pickup side. I'd go ahead and replace that too.

You'll also need the tool to remove one of the fuel lines.

scissor tool another fun thing ford uses...........you can get em anywhere that sells auto tools.

2 bolts holding the tank on
make sure you dont forget to remove the bolts to the filler neck/under gas door.
Becareful on removing the fuel lines.

Definately replace the filler neck grummet on the tank. Lubricate the hell out of the grommet so you can easily put it in. I used lucas oil treatment because it was the closest thing in my reach

Okay I got the links fixed...

So I can go to a place like O'Reilly's or Napa and they will have a scissor tool...will they know what I'm talking about or is their a more "correct" name...

And on punching out the ring to get it out...I could just put a thicker towel or some rubber where the "rod" would contact the ring...that should work right?

So...so far here is what I need...fuel pump, grommet, fuel sender lock ring, scissor tool (will fuel disconnect tools work)...what else...?

The tools will come in a kit with different sizes, they are a/c and fuel line removal tools. These are the ones I have. There are different kinds.

I have the fuel disconnect tools...but was wondering if I need the scissor tool?...or do I have to disconnect any thing at all...can I just unclip the clip by the fuel filter and then the duckbill clip and drop the tank?

I just used my friends "dental picks" just by lightly prying on the clips. The lines were no problem at all as I kept the tank supported while I changed it over.

So I can leave the lines connected and just lower the gas tank down or am I going to have to use the disconnect tools...I'm confused...

No, the lines are too short. You'll have to let the tank down a lil bit, disconnect the lines, then remove the tank.

That's all I used. The other line has a plastic clip looking gizmo that popped right out. On the filler neck I just removed the small screw that holds a ring in place near the tank. After unbolting the straps that hold the tank up I just slid the tank toward the driver side off the neck. Then remove the lines.
