i think its the back flow exit for the exhaust gases

Is your SMOG pump (pump that sits below the alternator, runs off the serp. belt) still hooked up to the offroad H pipe? Could that be what your referring to?

Could you describe this "pipe thingy" your talking about in more detail? Then maybe we can give you a better answer.

its not the hanger, its in front of it. on the passenger side, and it connects to another pipe that goes somewhere up towards the engine

maybe to the PCV valve? but it does sound like an exhaust exit back towards the engine. well my stang rumbles like no other now with the 2chamber american thunder out back. haha.

custom89stang: I was not referring to the hanger, i'm referring to a tube that goes to the SMOG pump, under the hood (if you still have it).

The smog pump is designed to pump air into the catalitic (sp?) convertors, to allow the cats to function proporly and burn off excess fumes.

With your Offroad H-pipe, you no longer have cats... but if you got a shop to install it for you, they probably put the smog pump tubing back in place and welded it onto the pipe for you. All this does is pump fresh air into your exhaust.
