on a stock motor with just bolt ons. Im gonna be adding some U/D pully's and a JLT CAI. I think after that ive got most of the bolt ons. So how much can you make with just full bolt ons, without doing H/C/I? My club has a dyno day coming up next moth and im hoping after I add that stuff that I might see 230rwhp?

Yeah- easily 220-235...

Full Exhaust
Headers
Gears
Pullies
Intake
Electric Fan
MAF
Bypass Smog Pump
Time it to 14 or 16 degrees
TPS bump to .99
Throttle Body
Disconnect Water bypass and Heat tube to spacer
CAI with K&N or just remove the baffle in K&N panel

With all that and some minor head work, i was making 243 rwhp with the 5.0. I gotta get that thing into a car again, i miss it.

a supercharger is a bolt on.

Yeah...only if you neglect to take the time to pull the heads and install a set of new head gaskets like pretty much all blower install instructions require. If you don't take the time, then your bolt on will turn into a blow up. If you do take the time, than it isn't exactly a bolt on anymore.

its not that, its the turnkey reliability that i miss, driving a race car on the street is fun, but the 5.0 was hella reliable to go on massive road trips. thats why i miss it, and thats why im putting it into a festiva or geo metro or something small.

Hey Goph...If you put a 5.0 into a small car....you gotta get a video of you driving the thing and you doing the head-bob thing like that cat in your avatar..:rlaugh:

i have all the basic bolt-ons here, and I just dynoed it. I'm seeing 222hp at the wheels. About the only thing else would be an electric fan or roller rockers. Theres a great article in the latest issue of 5.0 mustang too. They got 235hp with a full exhaust, cold air intake, pulleys, a 75mm throttle body (with upper plenum ported to match). It really depends on how many miles and how well the car was taken care of. Each engine and dyno will differ as well.

I have similar, bolt ons, Cobra intake and some head stuff done and made a good deal more than 240 rwhp. 272/316 to be exact. It makes less now but still pulls pretty good (didnt get my 12.56 on the 272 set up)!

I have seen 225-230 out of full bolt on cars. I have also seen a 225 rwhp car driven to the track, run 12.7-12.8s and then driven home all without doing anything other than adjust tire pressure!

I dont think RR's are considered bolt-ons.
From what most peope say, boltons are anything you put on without seeing oil (where you shouldnt see oil atleast). Then there are the exceptions like paxtons.

Rockers usually arent considered bolt ons, but everyone has a different version. I dont consider intakes bolt ons, some do. Some dont consider headers a bolt on, but others do. As long as you list mods instead of just saying "bolt ons" its all good!
