Hey folks,

I am putting one 5.0 back together stock and one a little modified..both are using stock upper intakes (one is ported). What are the vacuum lines and tree on the bottom of the upper intake manifold?

Chime in what I know. 2 small vac lines on the back, 1 goes to the FP reg, the other is a 2 way splitter for the smog control. Large line on back goes to the vac tree on firewall. One med size hose on front goes to charcoal canister. I know there is a hose that goes to the MAP sensor on speed density models.
EDIT - correction
The tree at the firewall has these connections. Starting with hose from intake, the next port is labeled B/R and has a cap on it, after that, one small line goes to air vent diverter control for A/C and heat, one med size hose labeled S/C , that goes off towards the drivers fender, I have no idea what that is for. Thats the only vac line I never found out. Anyone else know what that is for? The last hose is for the brake booster.

Yes , the one on the other end of the tree labeled something like ... S\C , that goes off towards the drivers fender, I have no idea what that is for. Thats the only vac line I never found out. S/C--stand for speed control, otherwise known as Cruise Control.
That vacuum line goes from the T to inside the drivers side fender and attaches to the Speed Control/Cruise Control servo which bolted to the inner fender behind the splash shield near the drivers side door.

Oh shoot...

I am trying to post a pic but I can't...

I am building two 5.0s. one 'stock', speed density, stock cam, stock intake, stock throttle body, E7s.

What of these lines should I replace while the whole intake is off the car?

The second 5.0 has thumper E7s, a Jay Allen Cam, and a TMoss intake. This will be mass air but has no charcoal canister or smog pump as it is going into a 74 bronco.

I am trying to determine, at this point, what I should get to refresh the old stock lines for the Speed Density car (I have the old stuff, it is kind of crummy),
and what I should buy for the Mass Air car.

I hope this helps, and thank you all for your input!
