for 315 I would think you'd need the 10.5 rims (deep dish for example).

because the front does about 70% of the cornering and 70% of the stopping, if you have small contact patches out front you will most probably have a really difficult time stopping and you will understeer.

I have the authentic y2k cobra r's whats a good size for some beefy tires my tire i have now were used and they are almost too skinny. Id rather have same size all around tho. mostly handling but def some traction off the line...

True...but don't forget that with larger tires on the front you will be more prone to your car tramlining...whether you like it or not.

275/35/18 will do the trick. Its the same overall diameter as the stock ones, which means the speedometer is still accurate. I think its probably the best you can do if you want to keep those rims.

Sorry, OFF TOPIC! But bdog, my dad was thinking of shoving a carbed 306 into his 2000 V6 stang, but we are worried about passing inspection. How does that work with yours?

And back on topic. 315s are the widest you should go if you dont want potential rubbing issues. But you need new rims...so 275s (which you probably have) are about the biggest you can get. (315s should fit on the Y2Ks but it probably wont look very good.
