What is this connector to??? It's been unplugged since the first time computer was taken out, obviously not important to any functions I've noticed. I've never seen it before, looks like it's coming from rear (one side comes out of harness of wires under carpet that appears to come from rear). Has purple, green and yellow wires, black connector. Looks like maybe it had to be unplugged to gain access to computer. Which would've been 18-20 years ago.

Problem is green wire is broken off one side of connector and will need to be replaced(looks like connector releases wires via red clip and can crimp new pin on wire).
This wouldn't be part of stereo system??
Anyone know?
Thanks guys.

Anybody?
Again it obviously doesn't have anything to do with engine, I am really wondering if maybe it goes to gas door release?
Mine isn't working since recent rebuild but I'm 99% sure it's not been connected for years and gas door button worked until recently.
Haven't checked beyond making sure there is power at button so far in troubleshooting. I notice you never see the latches in ads anywhere so I'm thinking they don't go out often? Mine obviously has, however. At least that's what I'm thinking it is.

PM me your email address and I will send you a complete Ford Factory 89 Mustang electrical diagram set. The zip file is 2.5 MB and is too big to fit through Stangnet's email gateway.

89 Mustang wiring diagrams zip package– The 88 body wiring is very similar. The main differences are the computer & computer wring harness.

They are in a zip file format to reduce the size of the package. If you don't have Windows 7 or Windows 8, you’ll need WinZip or other Windows archive tool to extract them from the zip file.. See www.majorgeeks.com - Download Freeware and Shareware Computer Utilities for a free download.

The diagrams show the location area and the connectors are drawn to the same shape as those in the car.

You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is also a free download – www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html - Adobe Reader download - All versions

Does your right side power mirror work? There's a connector in the kick panel with those wire colors that goes to the right side power mirror.

Aha, it doesn't work, the driver side motor makes an awful racket so I assumed motor was prob burnt in pass side mirror but I'll bet you are right. We'll see
Thanks!

And thank you jrichker for the diagram file!

That's what it's too, I went through my whole car and bought a wiring diagram that's the size of the hood of our cars which is easy to read I'll try to find a link to it as well it's also model year specific which you can enter in to get the right diagram.

Hey cool deal thank you very much!!

I can't believe I didn't think about it being mirror motor. I have manual windows but didn't think of that motor.
