What is this part and another question

1. what is this part in the picture. what is this wire that goes into the back of the oil pan.

2. If I am not runnning cats do I need to hook up the wires for the O2 sensors.

2. Yes, the O2 sensors are upstream of the cats. so they see the air before the cats anyway

Now do I still need to use the o2 sensor wires since I do not run cats. Would like to leave them unpluged. what would be the worse thing that could happen.

Thanks for the other one.

Yea you still need to run the O2 sensors

Your computer will not go into closed loop without them and will have no way to vary the injector duty cycle to keep your at stoich.

That quote was for the World war 2 mustang fighters. as they fought against the that crap back then.

Well he also could have ment his horse, which happened to be a mustang, which also would have beaten the j.a.p. crap. (still will)

But on the note of the plane, I would love to get a chance to fly a p51d. Those things are bad ass.
