Does anyone know what the piece is that plugs into the vacuum line that runs from the upper intake to the carbon canister. It also plugs into the main harness up near the top of the engine. What is the purpose of this part?
If it is the part that has electrical wires going to it then it would be the purge solenoid. The PCM opens this valve for a short time after you start the car and get over a certain RPM to suck fuel vapors out of the canister. It is good for the environment to keep fuel vapors contained.
