what is this wire?

coming from the same bundle of wires that power my injectors, are these two little wires shown in this picture... one is red, short, and has a female adapter at the end on a 90* boot. (haha) The other is about a foot longer, yellow with a red stripe, and the end was clearly melted away at some point in time. I bought the car this way, and id really like to know what these are supposed to be. thanks!

i have autometer mechanical gauges for both water temp and oil pressure... but now that you mention it, that makes perfect sense. Can i just cut them since they are not being used? or does that carry a risk of fire?

Cut and tape the end...or shrink a little heat shrink over it
