That goes to the charc. canister that is part of the fuel vapor system. Many people have them un-hooked or removed with no noticable issue. Mine is unhooked at the moment actually as I need to replace the line. I just blocked it off for now as its cheaper...

Correct. It's the EVAP purge solenoid. At cruise and idle it will introduce stored vapors from the charcoal cannister (located inside the passenger fender under the antenna).

Depending upon what's been done, I would not want to plug the gas tank up. A word of caution about deleting the EVAP system (or venting it to atmosphere): If you park in a garage with a pilot light (gas furnace, water heater, etc), there's always the risk of a fire hazard with gas fumes floating around in the open.

its a boost controler or its for NOOOOOSSSSSSS theres some stuff in the passenger fender that contains the charcol cannister and a line that runs back to the gas tank. i believe if you delete it your car will take longer to start

as a note: i got rid of my egr (and turned off w/ the tweecer--about one of the only things i've actually "tuned" with it) and got rid of my smog, too. the pump is still mounted, but it isn't connected to anything so it's just pumping out air.

can i somehow turn that evap solenoid off w/ the tweecer, too?

It's not something that needs to be turned off - it's kind of like a bonus when the small amounts of vapor are introduced into the intake. There's really no performance downside from removing it. In theory you need to keep the solenoid connected to it's wiring (no hoses need to be connected to the solenoid however) to keep the CEL off (other's experiences may vary). I am pretty sure you could get creative with resistors to make the puter happy (if you can't do something with the tune - the RT guys can help there. ).

There's not a lot you can do to modify the EVAP system and also keep it closed. The stock set-up obviously is closed and any mods to it generally open the system. Plenty of guys have done it - I just like to point out the one possible worry (regarding pilot lights) just so people are aware of it.

You can trick the TAB and TAD with resistors but it sounds like you can tell the computer you don't have an AIR system in the first place. I don't know the fine points of TwEECering because, well, I don't have one................................. YET.

I see where you're going - you will delete all functions on the car until the bucking stops. J/K (but it's not a bad idea).

i've been doing the same thing Paul. deleting everything that isn't needed. Hiding alot of wires too. i tore out the canister in the fender the ran a line straight to the sensor, then just out to under the car.

I unhooked that thing when I got rid of my charcoal canister. No CEL. No tuning around it.

I had problems with fumes BEFORE I removed it all. The fumes were so bad they would come in through the A/C vents.

I deleted mine.

i stuffed mine behind the a/c canister. it was a bitch to do, but you can't even see its there
