I was checking my tire pressure and noticed these things on the mufflers. I guess I've never noticed them before or let them spark my curiosity. Obviously it has something to do with the exhaust system. Does it add a certain tone to the exhaust? Make it quieter?

i bet it has something to do with vibration dampening.

You might be right considering it's completely solid (as far as i can tell without taking it off).

Its a deer whistle. Scares them off. I swapped to an after market one, really works well.
