WHAT KIND OF BRAKE PADS

i was just recently looking into a new set of stockish rotors and pads b/c i dont have the $$ for the 5 lug swap. Is it worth the extra cash to go with band name slotted or drilled rotors? I think i may just buy stock replacement rotors and toss some nice ceramic pads on there, change the fluid, and do stainless braided lines?!?! What would you all suggest? Something needs to be done about these horrible fox brakes....its scary just getting off the highway!

I got the 40 dollar ones from auto zone, performance friction, I think. THey work quite well so far, about 1000 miles in.

I ran Hawk HP Plus pads on my car. They were awesome!! But.......I took them off because they produced 10-15 TIMES as much brake dust as my old ones. NOT good. I took them off and put Performance Friction Ceramic's on there, and they stop almost as good (less initial bite then the Hawks), but produce almost ZERO brake dust. I wash my car twice a week, and my front wheels would be BLACK when I washed it. I couldn't deal with that.

Only twice a week? I would be out there with a spray water bottle and some towels cleaning my front rims of every day in the summer because the hawks put off so much dust.

Yeah, basically. lol. I didn't have the time (work way too much)... but I would wash it usually in the middle of the week, and on Sunday.

I use the hawk pads on my car. Just installed them over the summer and have only put about 200 miles on them, but there was a difference in stopping power. They make no noise and I haven't seen a difference with the brake dust, in fact after breakin I haven't seen any. The one major difference was that you need to follow the direction completely about seating and burnishing the pads. They will smoke and stink during this hour or so process, but after that, great pads.

The Hawk HP pads are like that. The Hawk HP Plus's that I had made huge brake dust and squeeked like a pig.
