Well my car got broken into last night and they took my system, along with a busted window and broken A pillar(they broke the window by trying to pry the window away from the pillar, and reach in and push the button). They took my sub and amp and some other things. However I have that secret compartment under my rear seat delete where I keep my cd player, radar detector, and SCT Xcal2, and they didnt notice the hidden hatch so they didnt get any of that stuff

Anyway, what type of car alarm do you all recommend? I obviously don't need/want remote start because it's a 5 speed.

Viper 5900 SST. Thats what I have, and I made the remote start functional on my 5 speed. Nothing cooler than starting it from 1/2 mile away and being able to hear it fire up!

but if it warns off one thieve then it has done its job and paid for itself, seeing how my deductible is more than the alarm.

not to mention they removed every single screw to remove my sub and amp from the custom enclosure (about 14 screws), if a siren was blaring they would not have had time to do this.

i had a Code alarm one on my ex's car. the one with the super sensitive sensors and the paging remote with a 2 mile range (and some other features). it also had a lifetime warranty which was nice. it was like $500, but it saved the car more than once b/c the pager let me know what was up with the car and i could get out there with the back up alarm...my .40 cal.

The DEI Viper line is top notch probably the best on the market.
For both my Subarus I have the Viper 5002 with every sensor
available.I also have the Viper 210V GPS Tracking System so my
vehicles can be located very easy.
I also have a few surprises inside my vehicles.

I had Code Alarms in most of my previuos rides before my gt and they are good, never failed and I have your same backup alarm....Glock .40cal....the best there is.

The Viper Dei was in my 01 gt and it was good, but in the last couple months I had the GT it started to act up...brain was going.Back in the 90's when I had my TA it had a Clifford and that was good too,but pricey at that time.

So I guess my first choices would be Vipe DEI,Clifford, then Code Alarm(only cuz there isnt any nearby dealers for them).

I use the millenium fx, it's a pager style alarm,no outside noise makers. I want to catch them at it.besides with all the harley's around here setting off alarms all the time, most people just learn to ignore them anyway
