What kind of seam sealer?

Need to seam seal where the new floor pans are in...but there's apparently a brush on kind & another kind. Which kind would work best in this case?

The absolute BEST stuff period......is made by FUSAR (i think that is correct spelling).

Anyway their best stuff is a two part epoxy type sealer....AWESOME, but expensive!

I suggest their black urathane based sealer........just DO NOT get it on you......or you will have to wait for your skin to fall off to get it off!

I just seam sealed every freakin seam on my new floors, plus scraped off all the old stuff everywhere else, and like everything else when it comes to restoring these cars, stuff gets exspensive.

So I used the brushable stuff in a can - About 18 bucks and I needed 3 cans-

Smoothed out just fine, filled in little nooks and crannies, and then I painted the whole shebang with rustolium- It aint goin nowhere

It can be bought in cartridges for a caulking gun or cans for brush on. A one quart can of 3M brush on is $29.50 from N.P.D. It seems the brush on would be more economical. It is paintable in 30 min.

I used the caulking gun stuff and made sure it got into the seams well......that is the whole purpose of doing this exercise....I am concerned that the brush on stuff would not be as effective?

The best stuff I used was Transtar ultra flex seam sealer. Comes in a tube and is very easy to apply and you can apply a nice bead using the stuff. I got it at an automotive paint supply store. I used 3M brush on and did not like it because it would shrink and crack open.

I too had the 3m brush-on sealer shrink and crack open in a short time after application. I now use tube type stuff instead.
