what kind of sprak plugs do i get?

Depends on what heads you are running and if you are spraying. Assuming all is stock, Autolight 25's are all I run. Motorcraft would be fine too, providing they are the same heat range. I dont know the # off hand on those.

yeah kinda depends on your head because some heads have different thread sizes/pitches. I found out that my GT40P's aren't the same size as stock :nonono:

Autolites and Motorcraft are the same thing; autozone has a chart that cross references them.

Think about it this way...pay less for your plugs and change them more often :nice:

Also, I haven't done this, but I plan to next time....check out side gapping....http://performanceunlimited.com/documents/plugsidegapping.html

I did the sidegapping thing. To be honest I didnt feel a difference. But then again Im not a human dyno that can feel a few hp difference. But its free, and easy so what the hell.

one can also buy plugs that are side gapped already. i might also index them if going to the trouble to cut them.

Yeah but the price goes from $1 to around $4.99 a plug. I would save the money and just cut them myself.
Kevin, i hear ya. but if someone fears screwing up the knife edge or lives in an apt, a prefabbed plug might be a viable option.

"Sidegapping" your plugs is a good idea if you've got the tools and a spare 30 minutes to do the work. Sure, you won't "feel" a difference because the difference is really minimal for most users. If you get to the point where you have balanced your rotating assembly, port matched your upper/lower and heads, bored each cylinder to the specific piston, flow-matched your injectors and any other number of tricks you can think of... taking a bit off the end of your sparkplugs can make a huge difference.

The point of sidegapping your plugs is to get a better and more even spark in the combustion chamber. Pros will even go as far as shimming the plugs to ensure they are all facing the intake port so every cylinder will fire with the same force. These are the little things that make an awesome engine even more amazing.
