I am going to change the fluids in my T45 today and I wanted to know which grade and weight of fluid should I use. Is it just like changing the oil? Drain and refill?

My exp.

Well, most would tell you some kind of synthetic (Redline, Royal Purple, Syncromesh, etc.)
I personally would recommend GM Syncromesh. I believe they use it in Vettes? Correct me if I'm wrong somebody.
I have a 98 Cobra and it used to grind 1-2 shifts. After putting in 3 quarts of GM Syncromesh and driving a week, I can speed shift 1-2 with no grinding. Not sure if you have this problem, but I'm just giving my 2 cents.

So is it as easy as draining it and refilling it? No special process or tricks involved? Oh and of course Im going the synth route. Does Mobil1 make a synth tranny fluid?

Yes, it is that easy and Mobil 1 does have the fluid.

When refilling, if you do not have a hoist, I will jack up the car and put it on 4 jackstands making the car level. Without a hoist I have also found that it is easier to use a 3-4 foot section of tubing with a funnel attached to one end and fish the tubing down from under the hood to the filler hole when filling the transmission back up.

an easy way to fill it is after you drain it, leave the fill plug out and go inside and take out your shifter and dump it in the top of the transmission and keep pouring till it comes out of the fill plug.

I ended up just putting a 3 foot tube in the fill hole and pumped the fluid in that way. Either way works though.

I chg'd the T-45 trannie fluid on my wife's 01 last weekend - made a world of difference - we were both surprised! I used Mobil1 Synthetic ATF. I also bought a hand pump to get the fluid in there...still, it's a bear to get the fill plug out, harder still to get it back in, and tough to get the pump hose into the fill plug hole - and pumping 3.3 qts took 30 mins+...slooow. draining it was simple - just needed a 3/8 drive rachet.
And in the end, it was all well worth it.
