depends on how you drive it...i have 22k on mine, with absolutely 0 problems so far...others weren't so lucky...several have gone through more than one, but i guess it's hit or miss...this was also the first 5spd i've ever owned so they weren't easy miles either

We went through 2 3650's on the 04 GT. Got a new UPR Extreme shifter, took care of most of the issues once I fixed the transmission myself that Ford couldn't fix.

this will tell you all you need to know about the 3650. if you can live with the notchiness of the 1-2 shift, and dont encounter any big problems down the road, the 3650 is a pretty stout tranny. MGW gets my vote btw

if you're a hard shifter you might want to look into the TSB
damn, it's been a long time

Stands for "Technical Service Bulletin" delivered by Ford. It is an internal memo referencing a known issue with a motor vehicle. The one mentioned earlier is in reference to the notchy shifting of 1-2 in the Tremec 3650. Hope that helps!

Yeah, there is the Tri-Ax and the new kid on the block, the MGW...but let's not forget the best one - Pro 5.0.

^ Agreed Pro 5.0 is the best IMO. I have NEVER heard anyone coplain about the Pro 5.0 EXCEPT for the crapy handle they provide with it (TOO short),(and ofcourse everyone notices a slight noise increase...steeda is the worst) but when you switch to the steeda handle it is PERFECT. Never heard ANYONE complain about that combo.
